
Bucatini amatriciana
Bucatini amatriciana is a classic southern Italian pasta dish made with only five ingredients, most of which you probably have it your kitchen right now. Try to find the bucatini. It is thicker than spaghetti and great for sucking up – kids love it!
- 1 onionpeeled and grated
- 1 clove garliccrushed
- 3 rashers lean back baconfat removed and cut into matchsticks
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- a good pinch chilli flakes
- 400g tin chopped tomatoes
- 150g bucatini or other long pasta
- a small bunch parsleyroughly chopped

Method
step 1
Cook the onions, garlic and bacon in the olive oil until softened (about 5 minutes). Add the chilli and tomatoes then simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the pasta following the packet instructions. Stir the sauce through and sprinkle on the parsley.
