
Steamed trout with ginger and garlic
A new way with salmon fillet. An easy and fast recipe that uses ginger and garlic. Steaming is both quick and a healthy way to cook - and cuts down on fat too. Serving with noodles or rice it makes it a satisfying fish dish for two for a weeknight meal.
- 2 skinless trout filletswhole or large slices
- 1 clove garliccrushed
- 1cm piece root gingergrated
- 2 tbsp mirin, sake or dry sherry
- ½ lemonjuiced
- a handful of leaves coriander

Method

Put the trout fillets on a lightly oiled plate, mix the garlic, ginger, mirin (or whatever you are using) and lemon juice together and pour it over the fish. Put the plate in a steamer, cover and cook for 5-6 minutes or until the fish is cooked through. Sprinkle with coriander and serve with steamed rice or noodles.
